not only is there a change in the way the magazines for field service are distributed to publishers.. there's news of a change in distribution of the study issue of the wt.

from now on a publisher will.

get them like they get their kms, that is by having their service groups overseer hand deliver them.. another way to exercise control for control's sake and make the sgos busier and feeling more and.

spoke to my jw husband today ( we dont live together), he has the co visit this week..." the end is very close now,we need to stay focused, now is not the time to be missing meetings,co was very positive, a great speaker, i sense myself that the end is just round the corner"......hmmmm i remember a co visit around 1990, i too thought the end was just around the corner, in fact my daughter would not start school lol, her son started school 2years ago.. did i miss something or do i have to wait till my grandsons kids go to school..... loools.

how could i have wasted so many years, is there a syndrome for this ????

They told my parents that about me in the late 1940's. I think of that every time I pull out my Bus Pass!

i know, i know... some of ya'll are gettin' sick of this "generation" thing... .

but for whatever reason, i had not seen this actual quote from the dc talk (that or had not paid much attention to it until now).

seeing it in print really brought home how desparate they are to try to hang on to 1914 in whatever way they can.

Again, the Society recognizes that generations may overlap without having the overlap render them as somehow comprising a single generation.

The Society's own literature shows how much the new "understanding" is contrary to normal English usage, not to mention basic logic.

Very interesting quotes Leolaia. Definitely need to be pinned in the WT ready for the study!

Very rarely. When I did check, two of the three messages I received were unreadable due to technical problems. I have just checked again and all three messages are readable so I will reply in the next couple of days.

I know if may be a pipe dream, knowing how little most dubs really do pay attention to what they're fed, but I really, really, really hope this causes more than a few to sit up and go, "Whaaaa?".

In your dreams undercover! I have asked lots of people in my cong what they think of this issue and only ONE brother, a young elder has said he has read the article. The rest just stare with a glazed expression. On 13 June it will be whizzed through in 10 seconds flat with a single 'read it from the paragraph' answer and no-one will be the wiser.

I never hear 'spiritual' things discussed before/after the meetings so the whole thing will be a damp squib. At the convention the talk is Sunday morning so all thoughts will be on lunch and a stroll along the beach before the afternoon snooze.

I'm not very uptodate. So the Book Study Conductors are now Service Group Overseers and the Service Group is the former Book Study Group, is that right?

That is correct. The Tuesday Book Study was ended Dec 2008 and the Book Study Overseer title went also. Now the 'book study' or 'Congregation Bible Study' as it is now called is a 30 min session prior to the shortened Theocratic Ministry School. The only need for 'groups' is for local field service hence the term 'Service Group Overseers'. We no longer have meetings at people homes but meet there for field service.

In our cong the COBE or PO as he was distributes all the KM's but there are under 60 so not a big job.

Has Anyone Gone Back to College Post 40?

i'm admitting to be very pissed off.....and bitter.

i'm sick of having no job security (i know its relative), but mostly because i did not go to college....... has anyone gone back to school post 40?

how was the experience?

I went to Uni at age 34 and did 5 years full time. It was worth every penny and every bit of effort. It provided me with a decent income that I could not have acheived, financial security now I am retired.

You will never regret it, even if 'A' comes next week, so what? You will be doing something worthwhile. And as it will not come next week you will go on to graduate and get a decent job which you will enjoy in addition to the financial benefits.

I am mid 60's and VERY angry that I have given so much to the cult and allowed myself to be deceived for so long! If only I had the internet 40+ years ago. You have a 15 year start me Hamsterbait so make the most of it.

I still look relatively young but wish I looked like Mick & Keith; at least it would be worth it for the exciting life they have lived! (Q - Outlaw pictures at this point)

Years ago there was always a talk on the Service Meeting afterwards which basically told you why the person had been disfellowshipped. They used to announce "Bro X has been disfellowshipped for conduct unbecoming of a Chritian" This practice stopped I understand due to the possibility of litigation. George
